Surprisingly, I wasn't scared of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." I was quite certain I would be freaked out. But not even the Oompa Loompas really frightened me. They were a little freaky, but not terribly.
I found Johnny Depp's portrayal of Willy Wonka to be fascinating. He was absolutely mesmorizing, in my opinion. I can't remember when or why I decided that I didn't like him, but I think I'm rescinding that assessment. I like how he did this role, and I thought he was great in "Finding Neverland," as well. A tiny bit of trivia: The little boy who plays Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore) is the same little boy who plays Peter Llewelyn Davies in "Finding Neverland."
Anyway, it was a cute movie. Forgiveably predictable.

Thanks for seeing the movie with me. I am not sure if you knew this, but there is only one Oompa Loompa. they just copied the same guy. Johnny Depp is always on top of his game.September 8 2005, 06:54:53 UTC 6 years ago
